Both the Susquehanna University Softball and Baseball teams have earned spots in the upcoming Landmark Conference Tournaments with softball starting Saturday at Moravian and baseball slated to begin the following weekend.
The No. 2 seed River Hawks Softball team will face Catholic University Saturday at 12 p.m. in its first contest at Moravian with the winner of the game set to play a 2 p.m. contest against the winner of the Moravian vs. Juniata game that is set for 10 a.m. Saturday. Competition in the double-elimination tournament continues Sunday at Moravian.
The Softball Tournament game will be broadcast on Susquehanna's WQSU radio with Jack Burns calling the action starting Saturday and continuing as long as the River Hawks remain in the winner's bracket of the tournament.
The Landmark Conference Baseball Tournament begins the following weekend and since the final conference standings are not finalized the announcement of the host for the tournament will be made as soon as the conference schedule is completed.
The River Hawks completed their conference schedule with a win over Drew Sunday and clinched a spot among the top four teams for the tournament. The rest of the teams have rescheduled games to be played this weekend to finish the regular season schedule and determine the final standings.
Additional information for the baseball tournament will be added to the Susquehanna University Athletics webpage as soon as it is made available from the conference office.
