The Susquehanna University Baseball team has been voted by the Landmark Conference coaches as the team to beat in 2017. The coaches voted the River Hawks as the No. 1 team in the annual preseason poll released Thursday.

Susquehanna was the top pick with 54 points followed by Moravian (46 points), Elizabethtown (39), Catholic (33), Drew (26), Scranton (21) and Juniata (12). The River Hawks received three of the seven first-place votes, Moravian had two while Elizabethtown and Catholic had one each.

Susquehanna won the 2016 regular season title with a 16-5 conference record and won the tournament title sweeping Drew (5-3 and 5-4) and Elizabethtown (4-2 and 10-4).

The River Hawks open Landmark Conference play March 25 at home against Scranton.
