Six different players scored two goals each as the Susquehanna University Men's Lacrosse team used a balanced attack to pull away from King's College Saturday afternoon to post a 13-7 non-conference victory at McCarthy Stadium in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
Chet McLaughlin, Jack Donnelly, Andrew Porzio, Preston Ouellette, Jake Smolokoff and Alec Tzaneteas all scored two goals each to pace the River Hawks (3-0). McLaughlin added two assists to lead Susquehanna with four points.
Smolokoff, Tzaneteas and Donnelly each scored in the first five minutes of the game to give the River Hawks a 3-0 lead. King's (1-1) rallied to score twice and trained 3-2 after a quarter.
In the second quarter, Ouellette scored twice and Erik Lanyi scored to give Susquehanna a 6-2 lead but again, King's scored the final two goals of the half and trailed 6-2 at the break.
The River Hawks used a 3-1 scoring advantage in the third quarter to pull ahead 9-5 after 45 minutes of action as Tzaneteas, Porzio and Smolokoff each scored in the third period.
King's trimmed the lead to 9-7 with a pair of goals to start the final quarter but the River Hawks stopped the run and scored the final four goals of the game to pull away for the win.
Porzio and Donnelly each scored before McLaughlin scored the final two goals of the game for the victory.
Dylan Abplanalp had another double-digit save day with 13 stops as he faced 20 shots.
The River Hawks remain on the road traveling to Franklin & Marshall Wednesday for a 4 p.m. contest.
