INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The winningest season in Susquehanna men's soccer program history continues as it was announced Monday afternoon the Crusaders will face Cabrini in the opening round of the NCAA Division III men's soccer tournament. The game is slated for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10 at Susquehanna, which will serve as the host institution for the four teams in its section of the bracket.
The full 64-team bracket can be found here and ticket information is listed below.
The last time SU faced Cabrini, which currently stands at 11-7-3, was on Sept. 13, 1998 where the Crusaders lost 2-1 in a neutral site game.
This marks SU's first NCAA Tournament appearance since the 2008 season, which was also the last year the team won the Landmark Conference title. SU earned an automatic bid to the tournament with its 1-0, overtime shutout of Scranton in Sunday's conference championship game. Ryan Donlevie (Stratham, N.H./Exeter) netted his second-straight game winner as he also scored Susquehanna's lone goal in the 1-0 win over Drew in the semifinal round on Saturday.
The Crusaders' championship is just a part of what is already a historic season for the program. The team, under the direction of head coach Jim Findlay, has already captured a program-record 17 victories and 11 shutouts, including the two this past weekend.
