QUICK STORY: An early, 1-0 lead did not hold up for the Susquehanna men's soccer team which fell 2-1 at Gettysburg on Wednesday night.
TEAM RECORDS: Susquehanna is now 5-7-2 while Gettysburg stands at 7-3-1.
FIRST POINTS OF THE SEASON: Jake Heyser scored his first goal of the season which also marked his first points of the season. Heyser is currently second on the team in shots with 21.
FIRST HALF: Heyser's goal came just 9:22 into the first half off a goalie deflection. That lead held up until 5:55 remained in the period when Matt Stine scored the equalizer on a cross from Justin Wigley.
GAME WINNER: The game remained tied at one until the 66th minute when Henry Smith netted an unassisted goal.
SECOND HALF STRUGGLES: All four of SU's shots came in the first half as the River Hawks were held without a shot for the final 45 minutes of action.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Gettysburg out-shot SU 18-4 with Heyser taking half the shots. All four of Susquehanna's shots were on goal while Gettysburg put seven shots on goal. The Bullets had 10 corners to SU's three.
GETTYSBURG CONTINUES WIN STREAK: The Bullets have now won three consecutive games against Susquehanna. The last time Susquehanna defeated Gettysburg was in 2013 when SU advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
