ITHACA, N.Y. – A week after the 2013-14 Landmark Conference Swimming & Diving Championships, several Susquehanna swimmers competed at the Ithaca Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
On the women’s side, freshman Caroline Henderson (Berkeley Heights, N.J. / Governor Livingston) recorded the eighth-best time in school history in the 200 IM, finishing second with a personal-best mark of 2:19.33. Henderson also competed in the 100 free, posting another personal-best time of 57.18, good for ninth overall.
Classmate Erin McElwee (Phoenixville, Pa. / Phoenixville Area) took first in the 100 back, touching the wall in 1:00.35. The freshman also swam the 200 back, posting a mark of 2:12.93.
Sophomore Kelsey Lessard (Chestertown, Md. / Queen Anne’s County) took home first in the 400 IM with her time of 4:43.94 and junior Annie Bruxelles (Hockessin, Del. / Sanford School) posted a pair of seventh-place finishes in the 50 free (25.84) and 100 free (55.94).
As for the men, senior Tyler Long (Selinsgrove, Pa. / Selinsgrove Area) won the 200 free with a reading of 1:45.37 and set a personal-best time in the 100 free with his mark of 49.41.
Freshman Eric Lawrence (Bethlehem, Pa. / Freedom) won the 400 IM with a time of 4:15.28 and finished in eighth place during the 200 back, turning in a mark of 2:16.19.
