Men Sweep Past Marietta in Spring Opener

The Susquehanna University Men's Tennis team did not lose a single match Sunday and posted a 9-0 victory over Marietta College in the first victory of the Spring season at Hilton Head, South Carolina.

The River Hawks (6-1) won the three doubles matches by scores of 8-5, 8-0 and 8-6 and won all six singles matches with the No. 4, 5 and 6 matches ending in straight 6-0, 6-0 scores.

Ben Ornstein paired with Nicholas Meale for an 8-5 doubles win and then Ornstein won 6-1 and 6-3 at No. 1 singles while Meale was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at No. 5.

Alexander Dove and Alexander Cocolas won the No. 2 doubles match with an 8-0 score and then Dove posted a 6-1, 6-2 singles win at No. 2 and Cocolas was a 6-0, 6-4 winner at No. 3 singles.

Taylor Swim and Garrett Deyle won 8-6 at No. 3 doubles while Ryan Seibert posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles and Ashton Collins was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at No. 6 singles.

The River Hawks face Milliken Tuesday morning for their second match of the Spring Training trip to South Carolina.
