Freshman Chris Petraskie cleared a height of six feet, four and one quarter inches to tie for second place and was the highest place finisher on the day for the Susquehanna University Men's Indoor Track and Field team at the very competitive 19th Annual Bison Open Friday and Saturday at Bucknell University.
Petraskie was tied with two other jumpers at the 6' 4 ½" height and was officially ruled the third place finisher based on number of jump attempts.
The other top finisher for the River Hawks was Joshua Brown who placed 11th in a strong field of throwers in the shot put. Brown had a distance of 13.26 meters (43' 6").
The River Hawks also had strong finishes from Armond Owens who ran a 7.43 in the 60-meter dash preliminaries, Ciaran Fisher who ran a 2:03.88 in the 800-meters and Justin Skavery who completed the 3000-meter race in 9:28.18. In the 400-meter race Kyle Entin led four Susquehanna runners who finished with times within 1 .14 seconds of each other. Jacob Blauch, Justin Meyer and William Claxton all finished in less than 56.20 seconds. Torin McFarland also had a 4:40.63 time in the mile for the River Hawks.
Susquehanna will host the SU Challenge Feb. 3.
