Senior Matthew Gass and freshman Chris Petraskie represented the Susquehanna University Men's Track and Field team on the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region team as announced on the organization's website this week.
In order to earn All-Region honors the student-athlete must be ranked in the top-5 in the region in a particular event according to the official results posted on the Track and Field Results Reporting System (TFRRS).
Gass was a top-five ranked athlete in both the 200 and 400-meter dash events. He was ranked fourth in the Mideast Region in both events with a 22.26 time in the 200 and a 49.98 time in the 400. Both times are school records.
Petraskie is the top-ranked high jumper in the region clearing a height of 6' 8" (2.03-meters). His 2.03 jump won the Landmark Conference title and is less than an inch off the school record of 2.05 meters (6' 8 ¾").
