Freshman javelin thrower Robert Marks finished fifth at the Bison Open Meet over the weekend at Bucknell University and has been named the Landmark Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 16.
Marks had a throw of 200' 11" which was good enough to capture fifth place at the Bucknell meet that featured several NCAA Division I and II athletes as well as a host of Division III competitors.
Marks remained ninth in the country for the javelin throw. He is just the ninth athlete in Susquehanna history to clear the 200 foot barrier.
The River Hawks will compete at Misericordia Saturday.
