Sophomore Chris Petraskie followed up his impressive freshman season for the Susquehanna University Men's Track and Field team by picking up where he left off as he placed in the top-3 in three different events Friday in the season-opening River Hawks Opener in the Garrett Center. For his efforts, he has been selected as the Landmark Conference Male Field Athlete of the Week.
It is the first week that the award has been handed out for the 2017-18 season.
Petraskie was second in both the high jump and triple jump and also placed third in the long jump for the River Hawks. He cleared a height of 6' 6" in the high jump and had a triple jump of 42' 9 ¾" and finished the meet with a long jump of 20' 9 ¼".
The long jump and high jump were marks that ranked second in his indoor career and the triple jump was his third-best career leap for the indoor season.
The River Hawks are off until January 19 when they host the Orange and Maroon Classic.
