Sophomores Robert Marks and Chris Petraskie have been tabbed as All-Region selections by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as announced on the association website Monday.
Marks earned the honor in Javelin and Petraskie won the honor in the high jump.
In order to be selected as an All-Region honoree, the student-athletes had to finish among the top five in their respective event in the region. Petraskie was fifth in the Mideast Region in the high jump with a height of 1.98 meters (6' 6") that he cleared in the Jim Taylor Invitational early in the season. Marks was second in the region in the javelin with a throw of 63.17 meters (207' 3") that he threw in the Mansfield Under the Lights meet in late April.
Petraskie was named the Landmark Conference Field Athlete of the Year and Marks was the lone NCAA Championships qualifier for the River Hawks.
