Eleven Softball Players Earn Scholar-Athlete Distinction

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Eleven Susquehanna softball players have been named Division III Scholar-Athletes by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).

To be named to the list, a student-athlete must have a minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale during the 2013-14 academic year.

The 11 players include third baseman Alyssa Cantalini (Kitchener, Ontario/St. David Catholic Secondary), catcher Brittany Devlin '14 (Furlong, Pa./Central Bucks East), outfielder Claire Hanratty (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park), outfielder Brianna Murphy (Hazlet, N.J./Mater Dei Prep), first baseman Bridget Rafter (Highlands, N.J./Henry Hudson Regional), pitcher Jamie Fesinstine (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central), outfielder Bryn Musser (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area), second baseman Cierra Omlor (Salem, N.J. / Salem), catcher Taylor Brady (Phillipsburg, N.J./Bethlehem Catholic), pitcher Morgan Lewis (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) and infielder Stephanie Chlebove (Northampton, Pa./Northampton Area).

The team had an overall GPA of 3.31 and finished 23-16 last season, including a perfect, 12-0 mark in the Landmark.
