Softball Slated for First Place Finish

TOWSON, Md. – The Susquehanna University softball team has been chosen to finish first in the 2015 Landmark Conference Preseason Poll.

The Crusaders were a unanimous selection with 60 points and six of the seven first-place votes (teams could not vote for themselves). Moravian was selected second with 44 points and the remaining first-place vote while 2014 defending champion Catholic was third with 40 points.

Elizabethtown received 24 points to place fourth, followed by Scranton (17 points), Drew (10) and Juniata (8).

Susquehanna went 23-16 last spring, including a perfect 12-0 record in Landmark play, thus becoming the first team since Moravian in 2008 to post a perfect conference record.

SU opens its 2015 campaign on March 1 at the Dot Richardson Spring Games.
