Softball Headed to NCAA Regional in Ithaca

The Susquehanna University Softball team made a dramatic comeback to with the Landmark Conference Tournament Sunday afternoon earning the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. On Monday learned where they will play in the first round regional as the official brackets were announced by the NCAA.

The River Hawks are in a four-team regional hosted by Ithaca College. The other two teams in the double-elimination regional are Ramapo (N.J.) College and Penn State Berks. Ithaca won the Empire 8 crown to earn its spot and Berks took the championship in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) and Ramapo earned an at large berth after finishing second in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament.

Susquehanna (29-14) will face Ramapo in the first round at Ithaca while the Bombers (31-10) will open the regional tournament against Berks (28-7).

Additional game times and ticket prices will be announced later Monday or Tuesday morning.
