Late Run Drops Women's Basketball in Finale

Bailey Trellhit a jumper with less than fiveminutes left to play to give the Susquehanna University Women's Basketball team a 44-43 lead but the River Hawks were limited to just two points for the remainder of the game and Elizabethtown scored a 53-46 win to end the season Saturday at Elizabethtown. 

Susquehanna (14-11 overall, 5-9 Landmark) led after one quarter and were tired at halftime and regained the one-point lead after three quarters in the very evenly matched game. The teams were still very close until the final minutes when Elizabethtown (18-6, 8-6) took advantage of five consecutive missed shots by the River Hawks to pull away for the win. 

Maddie Murray who was inserted into the starting lineup for the final three games of the season led the River Hawks with 10 points. Rachel Swegeradded nine points, Tess Nichols had seven points and Courtney Adams scored six and grabbed a team-leading 13 rebounds. 

Janine Conway and senior Danielle Palazzi each scored five points off the bench for Susquehanna. Adams had five assists and three steals and Trelladded three steals.
