LITTLESTOWN, Pa. – The Susquehanna women’s golf team opened its 2010 season this weekend with a fourth-place finish at the Gettysburg Invitational at the Quail Valley Golf Course in Littlestown, Pa.
The Crusaders tied for fourth with a score of 432. They were led by Lauren Fitzgerald’s 19th-place finish with a 30 over par performance. Directly behind her in 20th place was Alissa Perez who shot a 34 over par. Maura Handte and Amanda Keister tied for 23rd (+40) while Alexandria Taylor shot a 52 over par to take 29th.
Mount St. Mary’s captured the title with a score of 328 (+40). Host Getttysburg placed second (348) and McDaniel third (355) while Alvernia tied with SU for fourth. Franklin and Marshall finished sixth. Mount St. Mary’s Sarah Roe earned first overall after shooting a 76 (+4).
Susquehanna is back in action next Sunday at the Dickinson College Invitational in Carlisle, Pa.
