Shannon Kinney scored five times while Ashley Rose Lynn and Stephanie Dowling each scored three goals leading the Susquehanna University Women's Lacrosse team to a 19-3 victory over Goucher College Saturday afternoon in a Landmark Conference game on Sassafras Field in Selinsgrove.
Lynn scored twice for Susquehanna (7-6 Overall, 2-2 Landmark) in the first 10 minutes of action as the River Hawks built an early 5-0 lead. Kinney, Helena Woytovich and Caroline Rabiecki each scored single goals in the early run.
Goucher (1-11, 0-3) scored to stop the run at the 19:31 mark of the opening half but the River Hawks added seven goals before the end of the first period to take a 12-1 lead. Kinney had three of the seven goals in the run to end the half including a man-down goal, Dowling, Liv Cohn and Christine Hoerman each scored as well for Susquehanna.
Dowling and Lynn scored back-to-back goals to start the second half. The Gophers scored two of the next three goals over a span of four minutes. Gabi Toohey scored for the River Hawks between the two Goucher goals.
Susquehanna closed out the game with four more goals in the final eight minutes as Kinney, Hoerman, Woytovich and Dowling all added goals for the final 19-3 score.
Woytovich finished with three points on two goals and an assist and Hoerman had two goals as well. Kinney led the way with six draw controls. Libby Dex made seven saves in the Susquehanna goal.
The River Hawks have two road games at Scranton next Saturday and at Marywood the following Wednesday before returning home to close out the regular season April 29 against Drew.
