Randall Swope Named Susquehanna Head Coach

After a season as interim head coach for the Susquehanna University Women's Lacrosse program, veteran head coach Randall Swope has been hired as the next head coach of the team. The announcement was made Tuesday by Director of Athletics Pam Samuelson.

"We are very happy to have someone with the head coaching experience that Randall (Swope) has to be our next head coach," said Samuelson. "Her quality experience coupled with her familiarity with our program and players will make a smooth transition for the team."

Swope took over as the head coach on an interim basis in January and led the team to four victories including two in the Landmark Conference. She guided a pair of players to All-Conference selections as sophomore goalie Libby Dex was a First Team All-Landmark selection and freshman Mary Vilardi was a Second Team honoree.

"I am excited to continue what we have started here at Susquehanna," said Swope. "There is a lot of room for the program to grow and I look forward to working with the players and alumnae to help the program reach new heights."

Swope comes to Susquehanna after six years as head coach at Division I Bucknell University and another four years of coaching experience at Franklin and Marshall College.

The 1997 graduate of the University of Maryland was part of three NCAA Championship teams for the Terrapins with two as a player and one as an assistant coach.
