QUICK STORY: The Susquehanna women's soccer team defeated the Rangers of Drew University 2-0 Saturday afternoon.
RECORDS: The River Hawks improve their record to 11-3-0 with a 4-1-0 mark in Landmark Conference action while Drew falls to 5-7-1 and 1-3-0.
WHAT ELSE? This is the River Hawks' eighth shutout of the fall and SU has won seven of its last eight games.
SECOND-HALF GOALS: Both of SU's goals came in the second half. Emily Sullivan scored the game-winner at the 57:47 mark off of a header pass from a corner while Mairead Ruane scored the insurance goal in the 82nd minute to give Susquehanna the 2-0 lead.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE: The River Hawks out-shot the Rangers 15-3 with all of Drew's shots coming in the first half while limiting the Rangers to zero corner kicks to SU's seven. Sullivan led all players in shots with four while Alyssa Bolger tallied three and three other SU players totaled two each. Goalie Jennifer Thorsheim faced one shot on goal in her 90 minutes of work.
WHAT'S NEXT? The River Hawks return home on Saturday, October 22 when the team hosts Elizabethtown at 1:00 p.m.
