TOWSON, Md. – Five members of the Susquehanna women's soccer team have been named to the 2016 All-Landmark Conference Teams – two to the First Team and three to the Second Team.
Sophomore forward Emily Sullivan and junior defender Marissa Heddings made First-Team All-Landmark while junior forward Alyssa Bolger, junior midfielder Mairead Ruane, and senior defender Alex Edelman have been selected to the Second-Team All-Conference.
Sullivan, who is also the 2016 Co-Offensive Player of the Year, started all 18 games this season and led the team in goals (7), points (16) and game-winning goals (5). She tallied 39 shots with 19 of those on goal – both second best on the team.
Heddings makes her third-straight appearance on the All-Conference Team with this marking her second First-Team All-Landmark honor. The junior, along with Second-Team All-Landmark honoree Edelman, led a Susquehanna defense that compiled eight shutouts this season. Both defenders started all 18 games this year.
Bolger finished the season leading the team in assists with four. She tied for third in goals (3) and of her team-high 46 shots, 20 were on goal.
Ruane was also tied for third in goals with three while totaling three assists for nine points. The junior tallied 13 shots, seven on goal, and one game-winning goal.
This is the first All-Landmark Conference recognition for Sullivan, Bolger, Ruane and Edelman.
This season, the River Hawks finished the season with a 12-6-0 overall record with a 4-3-0 mark in the Landmark. This is the winningest season under head coach Nick Hoover and the team qualified for the Landmark Conference playoffs for the first time since 2009.
