SCRANTON, Pa. – Day one of three at the Landmark Conference swimming & diving championship, hosted by Marywood University, came to a close on Friday night. The Susquehanna women are in first with 245.5 points while the men stand in second with 180 points.

On the women's side, SU leads second-place Scranton by 46 points as the Royals have 199.5 points. For the men, USMMA leads all teams with 283 points.

In the women's 200 free relay, the Crusaders won by less than a second with a time of 1:40.10 with swims from Kelsey Lessard (Chestertown, Md./Queen Anne's County), Lexi Cole (Danville, Pa./Danville Area), Avanti Banks (East Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) and Kyle Seaman (Moreland Hills, Ohio/Orange).

Cole went on to win the 500 free by nearly six seconds with a personal-best time of 5:09.43. Teammate Dana Pontecorvo (New Providence, N.J./Mount St. Mary Academy) was fourth after touching the wall in 5:24.61.

Sisters Devin and Kelsey Lessard went one-two, respectively, in the 200 IM with their times of 2:08.95 and 2:10.13. Devin's time marked a championship and conference record as well as a PR.

Meanwhile, Seaman was SU's top finisher in the 50 free, taking fourth with her time of 25.49

Capping off the women's action for the night was the 400 medley relay where the Crusaders again captured first with a time of 4:03.05.

The men's 200 free relay took second with a time of 1:24.98 and Chadd Lee (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg Area) won the 200 IM with a time of 1:54.28. Josh Heller (Rockville, Md./Colonel Zadock Magruder) captured first in the 50 free with a time of 20:50 in the finals (a DIII B cut time). His prelim time of 20.38 marked a PR as well as a conference and meet record and a NCAA A cut time.

The men rounded out their portion of the night by taking second in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:31.77.

Day two gets underway Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
