Women’s Swimming Lands 15 All-Landmark Awards

Senior Ashlee Weingarten earned three individual First Team All-Landmark Conference awards and also had a pair of relay First Team awards leading the Susquehanna University Women's Swimming and Diving team to 11 individual awards and four relay awards following the 2017 Landmark Championship meet held Feb. 17-19 at Germantown, Maryland.

Weingarten, who was voted the Female Swimmer of the Year, was a First Team All-Conference selection in the 200-yard Individual Medley as well as the 100 and 200-yard butterfly events. She was also a member of the First Team 200 and 400-yard Medley Relays. The team of Erin McElwee, Joann Butkus, Katie Willis and Weingarten combined to win both events.

McElwee was also a First Team selection in the 100-yard backstroke while Butkus was a First Team selection in both the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events.

Willis earned Second Team honors in the 50 free and Butkus was a Second Team award winner in the 200 IM. Additional Second Team award winners were Caitlin Kelly in the 500 free, Margaux Palaski in the 100 butterfly and Megan Duck in the 200 breast.

Two relays also won Second Team honors as the 400 and 800 free relays were honored. Willis, Weingarten, Jessica Jozefiak and Butkus earned the award in the 400 relay and Megan Shaffer, Jozefiak, Morgan Sattler and Kelly teamed for the 800 relay.

The Susquehanna women's team captured its seventh consecutive team title at the championships.
