STROUDSBURG, Pa. – It came down to the final set as the Susquehanna women's tennis team dropped a 5-4 decision at NCAA Division II East Stroudsburg University Friday evening.
The Crusaders took a 3-2 lead when Lobell and Fox defeated their opponents 6-4, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-1 in the number five and six singles positions, respectively. However, the Warriors took the 4-3 lead when their number three singles defeated Rudloff and their number one singles defeated Fleischman, both with a score of 6-4, 6-4 .
Griffin tied the match for SU when she won 7-5, 3-6, 10-6 at the number four singles position. Sipple was the last player standing and after she dropped her first set 7-6 she won the next 6-4 but lost her match as she dropped the tie breaker 5-10.
Susquehanna returns to action on Saturday, May 1 when the team travels to Catholic for their final match of the season. The match starts at 1:00 p.m.
