The Landmark Conference released its preseason women's tennis poll this week and the Susquehanna University team has been picked to finish seventh in a vote by the head coaches in the conference.
Elizabethtown is predicted to win the conference title with 65 points in the poll and six of the eight first-place votes. Scranton was picked to finish second (56 points) followed by Juniata (39 pts/1 first-place vote), Catholic (38/1), Moravian (29), Drew (21) and Susquehanna (13). The River Hawks finished ahead of Goucher (10) in the poll.
The River Hawks finished sixth with a 2-5 record in last year's conference standings and posted a 4-2 record in the Fall. The Spring schedule of matches begins this week in Hilton Head, South Carolina with matches against Marietta (Mar. 12), Millikin (Mar. 14) and Shepherd (Mar. 16). The Landmark Conference matches begin Mar. 26 at home against Catholic.
