Women’s Tennis Falls to Catholic in Landmark Play

Alyssa Fleischman had a pair of tight matches at No. 1 singles and No.1 doubles and the No. 3 doubles team for the Susquehanna University Women's Tennis team dropped a tie-breaker set as Catholic University scored a 9-0 victory over the River Hawks Sunday afternoon in a Landmark Conference match on the Garrett Center Tennis Courts in Selinsgrove.

Fleischman paired with Abagail Ransom at No. 1 doubles and the River Hawks team fell in a close 8-4 decision. At No. 1 singles, Fleischman lost 7-5 and 6-4 in the closest singles match of the day.

The No. 3 doubles team of Eliza Griffin and Cassey Fox for the River Hawks took their match to a tie breaker before falling 9-8 with a 7-4 decision in the final tie breaker set.

The River Hawks are scheduled to play a pair of Landmark Conference matches at home next weekend with Elizabethtown Saturday and Moravian Sunday on the Garrett Courts.
