SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna female track & field athletes Gabby Alguire '17 and Ashley West '16 have been named Scholar All-Americans by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). In addition, the entire women's team was named an All-Academic Team by the USTFCCCA.
This marks the third-straight year Alguire has earned Scholar All-America status. An accounting major, Alguire is also a three-time All-American in the javelin, placing second overall this past spring, the highest finish of her career thus far. She holds the SU and Landmark javelin record with a throw of 155-08, set one year ago.
West, meanwhile, earned her first Scholar All-America honor following the conclusion of her senior season. She holds the Susquehanna and Landmark records in the 800m, 1500m and 3000m runs. West, an education major, competed at the 2016 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships in both the 800 and 1500m runs.

In order to earn All-Academic Team status, a program must boast a minimum cumulative team grade-point average (GPA) of 3.10 or higher. In total, 175 Division III women's programs earned the honor.
