Women's Track & Field Win Three Events at Landmark Championships

Jasmine Mitchell and Samantha Reed won individual titles and the 4x200 Relay that included both Reed and Mitchell won first place for the Susquehanna University Women's Track and Field team Saturday at the Landmark Conference Championship meet at the James W. Garrett Sports Complex in Selinsgrove.

Mitchell won the 60-meter dash with a conference and championship meet record of 7.81 seconds and Reed was the winner in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.60. The 4x200 relay with Reed, Mitchell, Carlye McQueen and Hannah Perkins crossed the line first in 1:48.75 to score first place points for the River Hawks.

Elizabethtown won the team title breaking a streak of seven consecutive team titles for Moravian. The Blue Jays scored 165.5 points narrowly beating Moravian (161.5 points), Susquehanna was third (91) followed by Catholic (54), Goucher (34) and Juniata (20).

Sarah Rinaldi scored several points for the River Hawks in field events as she placed third in both the long and triple jumps and was tied for second in the high jump. Reed was voted the Landmark Rookie of the Year and Rinaldi was the Co-Female Field Athlete of the Year.

McQueen was third in the 60-meter dash and Amy Kaschak was third in both the mile and the 3K races. Hannah Stauffer was fourth in the 800 and also fourth in the mile while Michelle Turnbach finished fourth in the 60m Hurdles and the Distance Medley Relay with Megan Wright, Alexa Pietrini, Gabrielle Verruni and Kiernan Dougherty took fourth as well.
