Women’s Track and Field Takes Third at Misericordia

Gabrielle Alguire and Amy Kaschak each won individual first place finishes for the Susquehanna University Women's Track and Field team as the River Hawks placed third in the final team standings Saturday afternoon at the Misericordia College Invitational meet.

Alguire set a new facility record with her winning throw in the javelin winning with a distance of 43.40 meters (142' 5") and Kaschak was the top finisher in the 1500 meter run with a winning time of 4:55.26.

The River Hawks had a host of other top finishes at the meet.

Kaschak was also second in the 800-meter race and the 4x100 relay was also second as Samantha Perkins, Carlye McQueen, Samantha Reed and Jasmine Mitchell raced to a 50.91 second finish.

Mitchell added a fourth place finish in the 100 meters and Reed was fourth in the 200. The 4x400 relay was third as Hannah Stauffer, Toni Alexander, Gabrielle Verruni and Hannah Perkins finished in a time of 4:33.62. Stauffer was also third in the 1500 and Maya Khanna was fourth in the triple jump with a9.64 meter (31' 7 ½") mark.

The River Hawks compete next at the Penn Relays Thursday.
