Seniors Gabrielle Alguire and Amy Kashack capped successful careers with selection to the College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) Academic All-American squad as announced by the organization Wednesday.
Alguire, a four-time All-American in the javelin and four-time national academic award winner from the track and field coaches association, earned her first CoSIDA honor with selection to the team after earning First-Team All-District honors announced in May. Alguire won her fourth straight Landmark Conference javelin title as well in 2017.
Kaschak, the Landmark Conference champion in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and the conference's Senior Scholar-Athlete award winner, was also a First-Team All-District award winner and completed her college career with a perfect 4.0 grade point average. Kaschak was also a national academic award honoree for track and field as well as cross country.
"This is a great honor for two great student-athletes," said head coach Marty Owens. "I am proud of the amount of work both have put in both in the classroom and in preparation to be their best athletically as well. Gabby and Amy continue a proud tradition here at Susquehanna of producing quality student-athletes."
