Women’s Track and Field Captures Two Top-20 Finishes

Erin Reese took 5th in the 10K unseeded race with a new school record time and the 4x400 relay grabbed 11th place to lead the Susquehanna University Women's Track and Field team at the 2018 Bison Outdoor Invitational meet Saturday and Sunday at Bucknell University.

Reese smashed the school record in the 10K beating the old mark by nearly 18 seconds as she posted a 38:28.14 to finish fifth in the race. The old school record, set by Cait Pflaum at 38:45.93 was set back in 2009.

The Susquehanna 4x400 relay finished 11th with a time of 4:23.71. The relay was made up of Katherine Mayer, Alexa Pietrini, Marissa Kleman and Kate Ross.

Other finishers for the River Hawks included Mackenzie Apple who was 32nd in the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.59, Rachel Seiler who was 35th in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:16.77 and Samantha Reed who clocked a 13.76 in the 100-meter dash. Kailyn Reilly had a time of 4:58.72 in the 1500 meters.

The River Hawks compete next at the Under the Lights meet next weekend at Mansfield.
