Marty Owens finished his 10th seasons as the head coach of the Susquehanna University men's and women's cross country and track & field teams in 2012-13.

Owens' teams won the first four Landmark Conference men's cross-country championships as well as the 2008 and 2010 women's cross-country titles. His men were also the 2008-09 Landmark indoor track & field champions. He has been the head of six Landmark Coaching Staffs of the Year.

In 2012-13, he coached three-time Rookie of the Year Ashley West, the first athlete in Landmark Conference history to sweep all three Rookie of the Year awards (cross country, indoor track, outdoor track).

Owens was previously an assistant cross country and track & field coach and later head indoor track & field coach at Westfield (Mass.) High School from April 2001 to June 2002.

He was a member of the Fleet Feet Racing Team and has competed in a number of marathons and other road races around the country as well as the famed Ironman Triathlon World Championship in both 1995 and 1997.

In 2002, Owens finished fourth in the Washington DC Marathon. He finished in the top 10 in the Vermont City Marathon in both 2000 and 2001. In 1998, Owens took second at the Atlantic City Marathon, and in 1999, he finished 13th in the Las Vegas International Marathon.

Owens has also competed in half-marathons, winning the Las Vegas Track Club Half-Marathon in both 1998 and 1999 while finishing fourth at the New Bedford Half-Marathon in 2000. In 1999, Owens was named the Southern Nevada Male Runner of the Year. His personal record in the half-marathon is 1 hour, 8 minutes, 45 seconds, while his best marathon time is 2:27:32.

He is a 1991 graduate of Ursinus College with a Bachelor of Science degree in health, physical education and recreation. Owens also pursued his Master of Science degree in exercise physiology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Stam joined the coaching staff in the spring of 2013 after graduating from SU in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and minor in english.

A four-year member of the indoor and outdoor track & field teams, Stam competed in a variety of events including the long jump, triple jump, high jump, hurdles, 100m dash, 4x100m relay and the heptathlon. She is a three-time record holder at SU in the indoor & outdoor long jump and the indoor triple jump.

She served as a team captain during her senior year of 2011-12 and along the way, picked up several accolades including being named the Field Athlete of the Year and to the All-Academic Team in 2012. Stam was also named a USTFCCCA Academic All-American Honoree and ranked 30th in the nation among D-III triple jumpers.

Stam is a 2008 graduate of Wellsboro Area High School, where she served as a volunteer track & field coach since 2009.

Jason Davis finished his third season with the Crusaders as an assistant track and field coach at Susquehanna in 2012-13 where he works primarily with the jumpers.

Prior to taking the position for the 2010-11 seasons, Davis was an assistant track coach at Bloomsburg University where he helped cultivate several PSAC qualifiers and coached the women’s pole vault school record holder. He has also held positions at Lees-McRae College in North Carolina as a NCAA Compliance Officer and assistant track coach, head women’s cross country coach at College of Mount Saint Joseph and assistant track coach at Wilmington College of Ohio.

In 2009 he captured the NCAA Southeast Region DII Assistant Coach of the Year award.

Davis graduated from Wilmington College of Ohio in 2001 where he was a part of the varsity track and field team.

Cris Delbaugh

Cris Delbaugh, a SU alum, recently completed his 22nd season in 2012-13 as an assistant coach with the Susquehanna men's and women's track & field teams.

Delbaugh works with the throwers and has a lengthy history of success with the Crusaders. In 2012, javelin thrower Jared Minori '15 became the second javelin thrower in two years to qualify for and compete at the NCAA Division III National Championship meet. Minori then qualified again for the NCAA Championship meet in 2013.
