QUICK HIT: The Susquehanna women's volleyball team opened its 2016 season with two wins in two matches at the Colorado College Classic. The River Hawks defeated Lewis & Clark 3-1 in their opening match before defeating Hardin-Simmons 3-2.

AGAINST LEWIS & CLARK: SU opened the match with a 25-19 first-set win before going on to win 26-24, 25-23 in the third and fourth sets, respectively. Morgan Lowe was the lone River Hawk with a double-double, racking up 15 kills and 18 digs. Alyssa Chiodo had 20 digs while Leana Carvin added 10 kills and six blocks (five assisted). Maggie O'Hearn tallied 36 assists and nine digs.
AGAINST HARDIN-SIMMONS: The River Hawks lost two of their first three sets against Hardin-Simmons before rallying to win the final two, 25-16, 15-10. Chiodo and O'Hearn combined for 24 digs with 13 and 11, respectively, while Kasey Bost added 17. Hannah Lyons added 10 kills and Tara Mahoney had 12. O'Hearn finished with 44 assists and 11 digs for the River Hawks' lone double-double of the match. Carvin finished with seven block assists.
PROTECTING THE NET: SU out-blocked its opponents 35-20.
PRIOR TO THE SEASON: SU received 40 votes in the 2016 AVCA Preseason Poll, the first time the team has received votes in a national poll under head coach Kuuipo Tom.
