Volleyball Extends Win Streak with Win at Harrisburg

Hannah Lyons recorded 13 kills to lead a balanced attack for the Susquehanna University Volleyball team in a convincing 3-0 victory over Penn State Harrisburg Tuesday night at Harrisburg.

Susquehanna (14-8) extended its win streak to seven matches with the win by set scores of 25-21, 25-21 and 25-18.

"We played a good match tonight against a competitive team," said Head Coach Kuuipo Tom. "The home crowd was really into the game and it was a very exciting environment. It was an atmosphere that some of our younger players had not been exposed to yet this year. Our team met the challenge and persevered. It was a good experience for us."

Lyons led the offense with her 13 kills and also had a pair of blocks. Every available player made it into the match and 11 different players recorded kills.

Kasey Bost led the defensive effort with nine digs while Morgan Lowe added eight and Caroline Beohm chipped in seven. Helen Forman had a team-leading 10 assists.

The River Hawks return home for a Thursday night match against Arcadia University and then return to Landmark Conference play with matches against Elizabethtown and Moravian in a tri-match at Moravian Saturday.
