GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Susquehanna women's cross country team ran to a third-place finish at the Gettysburg Invitational.
SU finished as the second overall Division III team. Bucknell won the team title with 35 points, followed by Waynesburg in second with 128 points and Susquehanna in third with 183 points.
Junior Ashley West (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) was seventh overall with a 6k time of 23:17.4. Keirnan Dougherty (Dalton, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) earned a top-40 finish with a time of 24:08.5 to place 39th. Amy Kaschak (Lake Hopatcong, N.J./Jefferson Twp.) was a mere 13 seconds behind Dougherty, crossing the finish in 24:25.9.
Rachel Bachman (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) posted a time of 24:42.9 and Kailyn Reilly (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains Fanwood) went 25:10.7. Sophomore Megan Wright (Winfield, Pa./Lewisburg Area) crossed the finish just two seconds later (25:12.9) and Emily Leboffe (Morris, N.Y./Morris Central) rounded out the top seven with a time of 26:09.3.
The Crusaders host their annual Ashley Shell Tomlinson Memorial Run on Oct. 25 before competing at the Landmark Championships on Nov. 1 at Goucher College.
