Women’s Cross Country Captures Second at Championships

TOWSON, Md. – The Susquehanna women's cross country team took home second place at Saturday's Landmark Conference championship meet. Elizabethtown won the team title with 18 points in its first year as a member of the Landmark Conference.

The second-place finish marked a one spot improvement from a year ago. The Crusaders' 57 points on Saturday were also 18 better than last fall.

Junior Ashley West (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) ran to a sixth-place finish with her time of 23:32.1. Sophomore Amy Kaschak (Lake Hopatcong, N.J./Jefferson Twp.) joined her in the top 10 with a ninth-place time of 23:49.2, just 20 seconds off her career best.

Meanwhile, Kailyn Reilly (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains Fanwood), Keirnan Dougherty (Dalton, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) and Megan Wright (Winfield, Pa./Lewisburg Area) took home the 13 through 15 spots with respective times of 23:59.3, 23:59.7 and 24:05.2.

Emily Leboffe (Morris, N.Y./Morris Central) crossed the finish in 25:17.1 and just 21 seconds behind her was Rachel Bachman (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) (25:38.1).

The Crusaders have one week off from competition before competing at the Mideast Regionals on Nov. 15, hosted by Dickinson College.
