THE MAIN STORY: The Susquehanna women's cross country squad officially opened its 2016 season on Friday at the Bison Open, hosted by Bucknell University.
THE RACE: The women completed a two-loop course in the three-mile race. Bucknell and Juniata were the other teams competing Friday night.
TOP PERFORMER: Senior Amy Kaschak was the River Hawks' top finisher, placing 12th with a time of 18:06.00.
WHO ELSE RAN WELL? Freshman Erin Reese and junior Kailyn Reilly were 18th and 19th, respectively, with times of 18:35.00 and 18:51.00. Megan Wright and Hannah Stauffer finished in the top 25 with respective times of 19:05.00 and 19:27.00 to place 23rd and 25th in the 48-runner field. Seema Tailor, Rachel Daley and Emily Leboffe finished back-to-back-to-back with Tailor taking 31st (19:54.00), Daley 32nd (19:57.00) and Leboffe 33rd (20:13.00).
COURSE-BESTS: Of those runners who have raced the course before, Kaschak and Daley set course PRs.
